Elk, WA — KnightCom, Inc., a Deer Park-based internet service provider, has partnered with Spokane County Broadlinc to launch new high-speed internet service in Elk, Washington and surrounding areas impacted by the 2023 Oregon Road Fire.
This deployment leverages next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) technology, providing reliable broadband to an area long underserved by traditional providers. The launch includes a “Cellular on Wheels (COW)” temporary tower now delivering immediate internet access to residents and businesses in the affected communities. This mobile infrastructure is a short-term solution as longer-term broadband infrastructure is developed.
“Connectivity is a cornerstone of community resilience and growth,” said Doug Knight, President of KnightCom, Inc. “Our collaboration with Spokane County Broadlinc and the implementation of the ngFWA technology mark a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in rural Washington.”
With the network now operational, residents can access high-speed internet services supporting remote work, virtual education, telehealth, emergency communication, and more.
